My Philosophy

Whether in conversation or in craft, much of my work is guided by a simple idea that worth is rarely lost. More often, it is simply forgotten, buried, or overlooked.

Throughout my life I have been drawn to things that carry history - vintage finds, salvaged wood, heritage trades, materials and skills - shaped by time and use. There is something quietly powerful about restoring purpose to what has been discarded or forgotten. Carefully repairing, repurposing and finishing a piece until its character begins to reappear.

As patina deepens and form returns, stories begin to emerge. What once seemed lost reveals its charm once again.

In many ways, working with people is not so different.

Over the years, through both personal experience and professional work, I have met many thoughtful, capable individuals who feel stuck, depleted, or uncertain about their direction. Often, they believe something essential has been lost — confidence, clarity, or purpose.

Yet in most cases it has not disappeared at all.

It has simply become obscured by the pressures, expectations, and challenges of life.

My coaching work is less about fixing people and more about helping them rediscover what is already there - their values, their voice, and their sense of direction.

In this way, both expressions of my work share the same spirit.

Through craft and restoration, I work with my hands to reveal the character and purpose of materials shaped by time. Through conversation and coaching, I work with people to help them reconnect with their own sense of worth and purpose.

Both require patience, care and attention. And both are grounded in a belief that the most meaningful transformations rarely involve replacing what exists, but rather revealing what was there all along.

This philosophy also reflects my love of craftsmanship, heritage, culture and wellbeing shaped from the landscapes of England and Italy that form part of my own story.

Wherever the setting, the principle remains the same.

Restoration is not about returning something to the past. It’s about allowing its true character to be seen again.
